Preserving Family Ties With Child Therapy
Our founder, Jeffrey A. Roosa, LCSW-R, designed a dynamic play therapy therapeutic format for children ages 3-17. We utilize this therapeutic method, among others, to help your child conquer their hurdles and develop healthy life-long coping skills. Your support between sessions will be essential in helping your child bridge the gap and bring their skills into the real world. Our therapists develop an interactive relationship with your child to address issues such as:
- Anxiety and anxiety with depression
- Environmental stressors
- Issues adapting to new situations

Why don’t we do individual counseling for those under 18 years of age?
Many people ask why we work in a social dynamic with our children and teens. Often children and teens feel as though there is something wrong with them and that they are the only ones experiencing what they feel. This is not true at all and that’s what we want to teach them. Many of their peers sitting right next to them in class are experiencing the same things. When they are in our dynamic, we teach them that it is a safe place to work through all of this and that the peers in the room are doing the same. This helps to build their self-esteem and reduces the feelings of alienation and loneliness.
For our clients that are having trouble dealing with peers in school the social dynamic helps us to see some of the behaviors that are problematic we can then in the moment install coping skills that they can use in the classroom environment.
Why do we require original birth certificates and custody agreements be presented for admission into our program?
This rule was formed because of past experiences with people trying to enroll children in our program that did not have a right to do so. We require proof that you are the proper parent or guardian and have the right to seek services for the minor.
